I have been aware several decades and occasionally involved in politics, known/ worked for/ lived with politicians, etc.
The term deep state itself is not all that old. Preceding The Don escalator descent to Earth by a couple / few years. Trump called it the swamp. Deeply entrenched and politically driven civil servants and corrupt officials, agencies and departments are as old as the Hill.
The Don is not super bright - nobody uses the VSG thing anymore. But he is not so dumb as to be unaware how corrupt his pal Dr Death and the long-corrupt agencies Trump procreated with to make his dangerous fake vax SwampJabs. Trump could win the Gold in synchronized swamp swimming. As proud of himself as a guy with boobs on parade in SF.
BigGovt, BigPharma and their captured agencies are a huge part of the swamp / DS/ whatever term you desire. And they directly affect ALL American lives. But Trump only likes to talk about the DOJ part of the swamp because it personally affects him. And because The Don IS part of the swamp on the BigGovt/BigPharma side.
