ABC just ran the 1956 Cecil B. Demille Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston one, not the later Exodus: Gods and Kings from 2017 with Sigourney Weaver-—also a good movie).

There were positive images of black people in scenes such as the arrival from Ethiopia of treasures for Pharoah and the invitation to all strangers at the seder by Moses who welcomes those who are downtrodden.

Jews were prominent in civil rights marches, legal suits in court and fundraising. This was a tradition from “because we were once slaves” in the Passover Haggadah.

Look at how far America is today from that era.

When people say "Good Samaritan" it alludes to a parable told by Jesus in Luke 10:25-37 and Mathew 25:31-46. The similarity is that in both cases a Jew walks through a dangerous area gets violently assaulted and ends up being helped by a kind non-Jew (albeit in the present place its not certain if the helper was not Jewish).

Being that the term "Good Samaritan" is used now in a broader sense to mean somebody trying to help, I thought it was oddly appropriate that in this particular case some of the particulars matched the original parable that had inspired the term.
