I keep seeing this said.
The CCP has been producing roro’s in their shipyards for at least a year .
Do you really think those are for car/truck sales to other countries ?
What they are for is amphibious operations.
I’m not saying they don’t want the ability. They don’t have it, and the with their cultural taboos about losing face, I don’t believe they will ever pull the trigger on one. The odds of being thrown back into the ocean is too great a risk. If the PLA looks vulnerable it is dangerous for the CCP’s security, and a loss like that tends to disappear Party members.
Why do they need amphibious craft? They can walk in over the Southern and Northern borders. How many millions are already here? What would the US do? Bomb it’s own land? Maybe nuke ourselves?
Some people are plain insane.
