I don’t think DeSantis would reverse anything Trump did because Biden already has. He would have to reinstate those EO’s. As for MAGA legislation, DeSantis would have to convince Republicans to write MAGA legislation. They wouldn’t do it for Trump nor would they remove Obamacare.
My point, until DC republicans as a unit embrace MAGA, nothing will change.
It’s sad we spend so much time arguing about Trump/DeSantis without realizing how little power presidents have domestically. Presidents cannot tell states what to do. Congress writes/votes/passes legislation. They vote on judges and dept heads. They control the purse. The president’s job is to sell the product. Voters listened to Trump and stayed active. DeSantis does not have that appeal. If DeSantis wins the general, the presidency will mirror every other administration ‘ignored by the public’. MAGA will die because voters are no longer interested in government like so many decades thus far. And that is the reason it’s important to have Trump as a cheerleader. He loses, it’s all over.
I wish more folks here could see or understand how important this is. DeSantis can be MAGA to the hilt but Congress and bureaucrats will not comply. And DeSantis will not have the public pressuring these people to get on board. It will never work without the people. That’s the part DeSantis voters will not discuss. They believe he can persuade them to be MAGA. MAGA wouldn’t have sent billions to Ukraine or paid for Biden’s budget or infrastructure (climate change). They wouldn’t have voted for Biden’s disastrous dept heads. They could have stonewalled like the dems did to Trump for every nomination. Sure…..they’re going to turn MAGA for DeSantis……./sarcasm
As for winning, neither Trump or DeSantis will win the general. Our ground game for getting out the vote does not exist. Look into it. We need AZ, GA and WI to win. We lost WI yesterday. No election integrity legislation will survive the WI court.
We got here because republican voters never understood that the uniparty was playing ‘good cop bad cop’ for decades. We can only change this by forcing most DC rep into a primary……clean out the democrats in our own party. Until then, nothing will change regardless of who’s head cheerleader.
With respect to WI, the word “lost” should be in scare quotes.
The Uniparty does want a civil war, thinking that will make them omnipotent. However, it would make us actually vulnerable to invasion.
