Got the insurance renewal in the mail. It's down $30 for the next 6 months ($5/month). Evidently my insurer isn't adding some kind of rider or increased premium over fear of having to total the EV from fender benders.

Maybe they're doing that rate increase with Tesla's (Musk bragged years ago that the new design incorporates the battery and related tech into the frame, which increases the likelihood the new Tesla's will be totaled in a small wreck.) I dunno. All I know is that I've yet to see an increase in my car insurance for my non-Tesla EV.
