Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti-vaccine activist and scion of one of the country’s most famous political families, is running for president.
Kennedy filed a statement of candidacy Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission.
The 69-year-old’s campaign to challenge incumbent President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination is a long shot. *** Kennedy released a book in 2021, “The Real Anthony Fauci,” in which he accused the U.S.’s top infectious disease doctor of assisting in “a historic coup d’etat against Western democracy” and promoted unproven COVID-19 treatments such as ivermectin, which is meant to treat parasites, and the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine.
His push against the COVID-19 vaccine has linked him at times with anti-democratic figures and groups. Kennedy has appeared at events pushing the lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and with people who cheered or downplayed the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
A photo posted on Instagram showed Kennedy backstage at a July 2021 Reawaken America event with former President Donald Trump’s ally Roger Stone, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and anti-vaccine profiteer Charlene Bollinger. All three have promoted the lie about the 2020 election being stolen. ***

If he is about pollution in general, I have no problem with it, but if he's on the Climate Change bandwagon, then he's garbage.
Those few who are paying really close attention to the gradual release of the JFK archives are beginning to track the photos of all those who were on site on the date of the assassination.
One fascinating hypothesis by one researcher is that one of the shooters is someone who has never been named by anyone—but his alibi (of being in the auto procession) does not seem to hold up...
Stay tuned—the name is a stunner well known to people familiar with that era....

Hey, you gave it a shot.

Good one!
Not my first choice but a better choice than Biden that’s for sure.
I found some quotes by RFK Jr that seem more in line with Conservative views than not.
. “We do not have free market capitalism in America; we have crony capitalism. There is a huge difference between free market capitalism that democratizes a country and makes us more efficient and prosperous and corporate crony capitalism.”
“The first sign of tyranny is government’s complicity in privatizing the commons for private gain.”
“We need election reform because our elections are being stolen. And these huge powerful voting machine vending companies have privatized the election process in our country.”
“In a true free market economy, you can’t make yourself rich without enriching your community.”
“I don’t even consider myself an environmentalist anymore. I’m a free-marketer. I go out into the marketplace and I catch the polluters who are cheating the free market...”
“There is nothing wrong with corporations. Corporations are a good thing. But corporations should not be running our government. Corporations are good because they drive our economy, they encourage people to assemble wealth and to risk it and then create jobs.”
“The journalists in America are no longer covering critical stories. Investigative journalism is gone. Foreign-news coverage is gone. The press is owned by five giant corporations.”
Of course I do not agree with plenty of what he says, such as
“The Republicans are 90% corrupt, and the Democrats are 50% corrupt.”
In terms of uniparty the number is much closer to 100% for both parties
“Most Americans don’t know about environmental problems, because we have in our country a negligent and indolent press. The biggest lie that the right wing holds in our country is that there is such a thing as a liberal media. Americans are getting their news from the right-wing media.”
If the media is right-wing they sure do a good job of hiding it.
My main problem with his perspective on climate change is that the alternative sources of energy are somehow “clean” energy. We know this is not true. He also fails to mention the very real human cost of pursuing the minerals and other goods needed to produce “clean” energy. He is critical of subsidies for oil and coal production yet is silent about those for green energy.
He’s going to have difficult time because of his voice
Him being a Democrat is a good thing. If he were the standard bearer, it would tear the party apart. I would vote for him in the primary. Maybe even for POTUS, depending on who is the GOP’s pick. Even if Trump won all the primaries, the R’s will screw it up on purpose.
