Ok. But there is one big difference between 2020 and 2024.

In 2020, it was Trump who had to defend his record, especially his COVID response, which the vast majority of people on both sides were unhappy about.

In 2024, it’s Joe, or the nominee, who will have to defend their record, and it’s not pretty.

The reason the left is chomping at the bit for Trump to be the nominee is that there is no greater Democrat mobilization force. The fact that independent voters largely hate the man is just an added bonus
