He didn’t start it. He was left with two unpalatable choices, do nothing and watch a NATO dominated Nazi regime move right up to his border, continue killing and ethnic cleansing, and trying to turn Sevastopol into a US Navy base, or go to war.
He really didn’t have too much choice. He did the same thing we would’ve done in the same circumstance. Well, with one exception. We would’ve bombed the living hell out of the presidential palace and seats of government in Kiev.
Moscow Times reports that problems with the junior officers and general force quality made his situation a tough one, lol.

Putin has pretty clearly stated that Ukrainian nationalism is just a form of Naziism, Russia therefore defines anyone desiring an independent Ukraine to be a Nazi. Also, Russia’s neighbors wouldn’t be a in such a rush to join NATO if they weren’t constantly threatened by Russia.
