Well, well, well. The world seems amazed at the news that the Chinese spy balloon that meandered over the entire continental United States this winter was, you know, spying. That’s what spy balloons do: they spy. They collect intelligence — in this case, information from some of America’s most sensitive sites (I was going to say “secure sites,” but that would clearly be inaccurate). What do they do then? Like bees collecting pollen, they transmit what they collected back to the hive, which, mirabile dictu, just happens to be located in Beijing.
Anyone who was paying attention knew this. Did secretary of state Antony Blinken? Did puppet-in-chief Joe “Chocolate-Chip” Biden? Probably. But there is knowing and then there is knowing. The latter includes acknowledging what you know, which neither they nor SecDef Lloyd “Stand Down” Austin nor chair-entity of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark “White Rage” Milley did.
Nope, it was ostrich time all around — by which I mean that our heads were buried in the sand. Which is why the NBC report that — can you believe it? — Beijing’s spy balloon was not only collecting secrets but also transmitting them back to Comrade Pooh-Bear Xi caused a little ripple in the pond of public complacency yesterday. “Chinese spy balloon gathered intelligence from sensitive US military sites, despite US efforts to block it.” You don’t say?

Of course they got valuable data. Flying over missile silos in Montana and the Dakotas...flying over naval installations on the East Coast.
What a shock.
I take it the CCP calculated it was safer to spy overhead from a balloon that may wind up with a sidewinder chasing it than risking their spy assets lives at ground level travelling Mayor Pete’s rickety rail system.
It wasn't ostrich time; it was just the Demonicrats' usual giving-aid-and-comfort-to-the-enemies-of-the-United-States time.
Yeah but no more mean tweets.
One thing this says to me is that their Spy Satellites must suck bigly.
Eventually they will be given a couple of our best satellites plus support.
That’s what happens when your CIC is compromised by your biggest enemy.
No wonder it was taken off the news within days.
Exactly what kind of intelligence data do you think they can they gather from overflying the Minuteman sites?
Was it propeller driven and if so, where is the propeller in this photo and where were the massive fuel tanks necessary to drive it for the eight days and beyond if it hadn't been shot down?
Or was it rocket propelled? If so where was the rocket engine located in the payload as well as the required fuel tanks to fire it?

Sorry, but given this government's history on lying about significant events, I ain't believing a damn thing they are telling us about this stupid atmospheric balloon.
My first guess would be radiation sensors to see what sites actually have nukes. But I imagine lead lining and concrete would limit any radiation to the outside world.
Anyone who objects to Biden allowing the Chinese to do whatever the hell they want to do is a ‘domestic terrorist’... and the Department of Just Us Democrats will have them investigated.
I don’t think you could do much of that from 74,000 feet. The ambient radiation from space is going to be much, much “louder” than the radiation from a puny little warhead 15 miles beneath you.
Col. Macgregor says this was nothing but a blown-up silly story.
Brandon probably wears a wire every day to spy for the Chicoms.
