It seems like in the 50’s, we also got the injections, so why the sugar cubes? I just can’t remember. Your dad had to be a fighter and a good father to make certain his kids were protected. A frightening time for all. Thank you, Valpal1.

The oral vaccine is sterilizing in that it also stops transmission except when it mutates and causes disease. Rare but it happenes. The injectable provides immunity, but doesn’t stop transmission. Which means an immune person could pick up the virus in a 3rd world backwater and bring it back to the US and infect unvaccinated persons.

We went to injectable only in the mid 90’s because transmission via mutated vaccine polio were the only cases and wild type polio hadn’t been seen since 1979.

But in 2022, a 27 yr old unvaccinated man was paralyzed in Rockland MD and it was determined to be a reverted strain and the wastewater there was teeming with it.

This is why vaccinations are still so important, because international travel and illegal immigration are bringing disease with them.

All the covid mistakes and lies are creating such antipathy to vaccines that it’s only a matter of time before we get an actual polio epidemic because of low va cination rates.
