...which makes no sense because I thought the FIB only takes out republicans. The only explanation is that this guy was going to flip on some commie!

He worked for Hogan(R). Not saying he cant be a democrat, but I think not.

I assume he was Republican, considering that he was Hogan’s Chief of Staff, and Hogan is a (nominal) Republican.

...and I suspect Hogan is happy with the outcome.
