On Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Florida's permitless carry bill into law.
This allows guns to be carried almost anywhere without a permit.

So criminals will need to assume their planned victim is carrying?
The scumbags were carrying before FRiend. This simply restores every law abiding citizens right to carry how they see fit.
In Alaska, if you are pulled over or involved in any police activity, you let the police know you have a firearm and where it is.
Scumbags don’t do that.
Ordinarily, I am not the grammar police, but this bit of semantics is important. I just checked my Florida concealed carry license. It is indeed a license and not a “permit.”
I meant to include that this allows Floridians to concealed carry without paying the Florida Department of Agriculture for a permission slip.
As I understand it, the removal of a permit being required doesn’t change who may legally carry a firearm. Prohibited persons can still be prosecuted. Requiring a permit never prevented prohibited persons from carrying if they were inclined to do so.
This bill, while good in theory, is going to get a lot of people killed because now thugs can carry without any preparation. Criminally minded groups and wannabe gangsters will be carrying and there will be way more idiots with guns on the street.
Trump didn’t do himself any favors vote wise with the people of Florida by attacking Governor DeSantis......he protected us from all the draconian crap coming out of DC during covid and people aren’t likely to forget that.
Trump may very well be the nominee but it wouldn’t surprise me if he struggles here.
>> Trump didn’t do himself any favors vote wise with the people of Florida by attacking Governor DeSantis
Hey, I myself cringe most of the time when Trump calls DeSantis names. (DeSantis’ obvious weaknesses on foreign policy are the exception.)
But it’s kinda weird to hijack every single thread about DeSantis to pre-emptively bash Trump and Trump supporters. It shows insecurity. It’s unnecessary. And the DeSantis bashers you keep predicting will show up simply haven’t.
Just FRiendly advice. Be blessed, V_TWIN.

That’s certainly the way it is in Texas’ constitutional carry laws. I assume so in Florida too but I haven’t seen the wording of the law.

A minor miracle.....it is Holy week after all. 😏

LOL.
it’s always been legal to carry a gun in your car in FL
Scumbags will carry concealed no matter what any law says
This will make the worst of the worst from the Northeast to reconsider moving to Fla and fouling our nest with their votes. Separation is a good thing. Expect the ones that are already in Fla to consider fleeing.
Would that include a non-resident with a CCW from a non-reciprocity state?
Asking for a friend.
Yep. The irony of that is the right to carry a gun in your car depends on whether it’s concealed in the glovebox, or center console, or trunk, etc. It’s always been illegal to have it openly visible or in a holster attached to a seat for example.... Always thought that was weird.
alright!
