If the GOP would enact meaningful school reforms to allow and even promote competition, the public school system would wither on the vine in 5-10 years. Imagine if the parents controlled the tax dollars and could send their kid where they wanted, or you got a tax credit for your private school tuition up to a certain amount. The teacher unions would be gone.
