Let Russia have Ukraine. They deserve it.

Let China take Taiwan. We have no business interfering in an internal issue with China.

Let Afghanistan live their lives like they have for thousands of years, and only go back in when they execute their next 9/11.

Let Baghdad go their own way. We don’t belong there.

Let Iran build their A-bomb and let them do whatever they wish with their neighbors. We can’t be bothered by what they do.

The Chinese want to replace the U.S. as the leading world power and wish to control what happens in Africa and S. America, but we can’t be bothered by what China wants to do or what those African nations and S. American nations wantto do. None of our business.

In fact, we should pull out of Europe and Asia and allow those areas to decide their own future. We don’t belong anywhere except, perhaps the U.S., and if China wants Hawaii, let them have it since, Hawaii is socialist anyway.

And, if the whole world wants to come in through our borders, why should we stop them? This is a free country.

Isolationism did the US so much good in the early part of the previous century...

It would be funny if Afghanistan had actually executed the first 9/11. Other than that your arguments are worth considering.

It's not just a choice between isolationism vs global involvement, it's about having credible and consistent domestic and foreign policy with defined objectives.

We don't want China to take Taiwan, but we let China take over much of our manufacturing base and help them to become an economic power. We allow politicians (not just the Bidens) to cut deals with China that give China more power and influence. We let our taxpayer funded NIH send grant money to China for ‘research’ that likely led to a pandemic that caused millions of deaths, reset world politics (including affecting our own presidential election), and ushered in more government control of people's lives.

We don't want Afghanistan to become a staging area for terrorism, but we gave them weapons and financing so they could fight the USSR (i.e. Operation Cyclone), and then gave them more in 2001 just before 9/11 occurred. Then we go in militarily to Afghanistan, ‘freeing’ it, all so we could then pull out haphazardly during the first year of the Biden administration - leaving chaos, a lot of military hardware, and with the Taliban back in charge.

Etc., etc. (e.g. the feckless Iran nuclear deal).

So, if you are going to ask Americans to sacrifice more and more, including potentially the lives of their sons and daughters, you first have to fix the feckless disaster the US government and its expanded bureaucracy has been for decades.
