The European Court of Human Rights will hear cases against France and Switzerland over alleged failings to protect the environment Wednesday, the first time governments are in the court's dock for alleged climate change inaction.
The case against Switzerland is based on a complaint by an association of elderly people -- who call themselves the "Club of Climate Seniors" -- concerned with the consequences of global warming on their living conditions and health, the ECHR said.
They accuse the Swiss authorities of various climate change failings which they say amount to a violation of the government's obligation to protect life and citizens' homes and families.
The case against France was brought by Damien Careme, a former mayor of Grande-Synthe, a suburb of Dunkirk in northern France, who also argues that the central government has failed to meet its obligation to protect life by taking insufficient steps to prevent climate change.
"The stakes are extremely high," said Corinne Lepage, a former French ecology minister and one of Careme's lawyers in the case.
"If the European court recognises that climate failings violate the rights of individuals to life and a normal family life, then that becomes precedent in all of the council's member states and potentially in the whole world," she told AFP.
A third pending case, without a date for a hearing so far, was brought by young Portuguese applicants claiming that climate inaction by dozens of states had contributed to heatwaves in Portugal which they said was affecting their rights.

And what exactly will the court do if there is an Absolute refusal to comply with the court’s dictats? Remember when the Japanese ambassador told the league of nations to basically F.O then walked out? WWll wasn’t that long ago in the larger scheme of things. Nations Can say NO! To dictator judges.
Next EU election is spring 2024. Previously, there were never hyped-up elections, with around 60-percent of registered voters showing up and traditionally voting along the lines of whichever party they ‘felt’ a part of.
In this case (2024)...you can sense the pro-farmer situation affecting things...along with the refugee chatter, economics spiral, and this court case here...are influencing people to go toward opposition voting.
This why the US is well advised to steer clear of these various euro trash “courts.” They are like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

Let the “revolutionaries” courts do something meaningful like attacking the big violators China and India.

It may be a part of the end times “great delusion” that God will allow to overcome the world. It certainly has the ability to control mankind if the left get their way, and will force people to “take the mark” if they want to eat, travel, buy or sell” in th3 near future.

It is my beleif that climate change laws rules and regulations will be “A” hammer which the one world government uses to usher in the mark of the beast and compliance. Many people will be desperate in mid winter when they have no heat, no electricity, no fuel, and they will panic and go to the beast and ask for the mark so that they can continue to feed and warm their families (same for people in hot places around. The world, only they will be desperate for air conditioning , fuel, electricity, and want the “right” to buy and sell.)
I think there will be several tools that will be used to beat the world into submission, but I personally think climate change lie will be a major tool that the one world gov uses
