Why Governor Ron DeSantis won't run in 2024: Here are the Reasons
American Thinker ^ | 03/28/2023 | Laura J. Wellington

The entire nation is waiting for the day when Governor Ron DeSantis announces whether or not he will be running for president in 2024. The media are definitely on the edge of their seats. Speculation is flying, and so is the chatter concerning how he will stack up against former president Trump. Plenty believe "quite well." Thus, they anticipate an announcement revealing that Governor Ron DeSantis will be running.

I don't agree, however. In my opinion, Governor Ron DeSantis will sit 2024 out. No doubt, I am one of the very few, but I definitely have my reasons, some of which I will share with you below.

1. The setup is poor. Governor DeSantis can craft a better position for himself to run at a later date, when Trump is out of the way. Using the additional time to continue to improve his state while doubling down on his growing reputation as a no-nonsense Republican candidate will only help him.

2. He will be the unbeatable Alpha candidate. DeSantis will never agree to be Trump's running mate. His personality won't have it. And whoever does will not be the person our nation needs to be president the next time around, because Trump will never agree to such a candidate as vice president. Anyone who could upstage him or truly run the nation as in Trump's place won't even be considered. To that end, former vice president Mike Pence should really just sit down and not even try to run in 2024. It is a waste of time and money.

3. Legally, he may not be able to. DeSantis will not risk his current position to run, especially knowing that no one could beat him if he waits. The landscape is thin despite the numerous Republicans throwing their hats

There’s really only one reason: he can’t get the $$$.

If Trump gets the nomination and loses, there is no assurance he won’t run again in 2028.

He would have to give up the governorship for zero chance of winning the nomination.

They’re already throwing out the stories, excuses and the cover for why he won’t throw his hat in the ring.

DeSantis is the progressives last hope to get rid of Trump. So, they’re praying (something they hate doing because they don’t believe in God) for DeSantis to announce and win, and then have him lose against the liberals election-theft system.

DeSantis is their last hope, and Bragg’s indictment against Trump won’t be happening. J6 failed. The Steele/Hillary hoax failed. The phony corrupt phone call to Ukraine failed. Right now, DeSantis if the liberals best hope to keep Trump from running and winning. DeSantis is now a tool of the left, and of the never-Trump RINOs and left-wing media.

Trump can just keep running, to prevent any Republican from ever winning the presidency, and giving complete control to the Democrats.

Progressives hate DeSantis. Her proved election integrity can work. Trump is doing nothing to fight election fraud.

Trump has given up attacking Democrats, and only attacks Republicans to the left of McConnell. Of course, he back McConnell and McCarthy.

Ms. Wellington swings and misses, one highly suspects.

We'll see, of course, however I'd wager a ha'penny (if I had one) that RDS announces within a month or two.

desantis was born and raised in florida...

desantis has 3 young children...

desantis’s wife recently battled cancer...

desantis isn’t leaving the warm welcoming climate of florida and moving his family to the harsh miserable climate of washington dc anytime soon...

If Trump gets the nomination and loses, there is no assurance he won’t run again in 2028. Shades of William Jennings Bryant! (Three unsuccessful runs for POTUS around 1900)!

I don't think Trump wants to be remembered that way.

We won’t win anyway, since we sat idle and allowed the democrats to perfect their voter fraud.

Not sure why you think other wise. It’s blatantly obvious that until the USA changes to some autocratic junta, the Democrats will hold the office of the President.

I may be naive in thinking this, but I would not be surprised if Trump (or someone) isn’t quietly doing things to disrupt or dissolve the fraud setups of the leftists...Should be done quietly until near the end...Then let all H*LL break loose...

Questions to think about.

Is the establishment supporting him just because he could knock off Trump in the primary?

Will the establishment abandon him in the general?

Will the establishment still support him in 2018 if Trump is out of the picture?
