A man was stabbed to death in broad daylight at a Starbucks in Vancouver, Canada, reportedly in front of his wife and kids, according to Global News.
The victim, Paul Stanley Schmidt, 37, was reportedly at the coffee shop with his wife and daughter, according to his mother, when he was attacked by the suspect, 32-year-old Inderdeep Singh Gosal – an “India-origin national” (not Hindu), who was arrested at the scene and later charged with second-degree murder.
The attack took place at the corner of Granville and West Pender streets, around 5:40 p.m., after a “brief altercation,” according to police. The motive for the killing is not known, and police are asking witnesses to come forward.
“There’s a significant amount of evidence to tell us what happened. What we are focusing on now is why did this happen. What are the events that transpired in the moments leading up to this very serious crime … and that’s something that may take some time for us to fully understand,” said police spokesman Sergeant Steve Addison.
“We believe there are people likely nearby, people who witnessed it, people who were in the area who can help us to understand those questions,” Addison added.
Reports state that according to court documents posted online, this is the suspect’s first and only criminal charge.
A witness described the incident as “not something you think you would see walking down the street in Vancouver on a Sunday,” adding that the Starbucks was filled with screams after the suspect went back into the store after the stabbing.
The attack was caught on video (warning):

Here we go:
“A confrontation on the patio of a busy downtown Starbucks that ended with the stabbing death of a Burnaby man started when the victim asked the suspect to not vape near his toddler, said the victim’s mother.”
Sounds like Mr. Shabby was high, and perhaps also worked up over the Kalistani protests in Vancouver (see #58), and likely has mental issues, too. Bad combination.
That poor man and his family. That poor little toddler, seeing that right up close. They all need our prayers.
Thanks. So basically, the poor victim did nothing wrong.
A confrontation on the patio happened when the victim asked the suspect to not vape near his toddler, said the victim’s mother.”
I see, so the unarmed American victim simply asked the foreign suspect not vape near his kid, and the suspect stabs the victim to death in from of his family.
You call that a fight?
I never called it a fight. You must have me confused with someone else. Initial news articles said Mr. Stabby butchered the poor Canadian man “after a brief altercation.”
I consider it an insane horrific murder.
That was meant for moovova, who suggested this was a fight.
Btw, several here have hinted, suggested or implied, this could have been the unarmed victims fault, which is totally irrational.
According to the victim’s mother:
Kathy said Paul gave the little girl to her mother. The two men started to fight.
“Which is so uncharacteristic of Paul. I’ve never seen him fight, ever,” Kathy said.
Kathy said Paul was then stabbed. His wife saw the whole thing.
But who knows exactly what happened? Mother is in shock and grief and did not see it herself, and reporters get things wrong. Mr. Stabby might have started stabbing the victim and he tried to defend himself, which isn’t exactly what I would call a fight.
Anyway, only two days earlier, in Toronto, a teen boy was stabbed to death by another wild Stabby Guy while sitting on a bench in subway station minding his own business:
I know what happened. Just look at the video. The victim appears to be completely unarmed, when the suspect stabs him to death. No other guns or knives on the ground near the victim as he was bleeding out. No reports or witnesses stating the victim was armed in any way. That's not a fight, that's murder.
No question it was murder. I have never questioned that.
If a cup of hot water is a start… what comes next? Why wouldn’t you take the opportunity to follow thru since the hot liquid is only at best a distracting set up . What do you do, toss the water, piss him off and stand there looking at him? Why would you bother to toss the water then NOT stomp on his head? And why is kicking the shit out of somebody who’s got it coming considered such an impossible and unlikely act on FR?
Clearly it was an assault knife!
“”started to fight.””
So the victim asked the suspect to stop vaping near his little kid and the suspect stabs the victim to death. And you consider this a fight? Okie dokie.
I’m just sitting the article. If you have a problem with the article...go moan to them.
I see you're not a 2nd Amendment supporter.
First degree murder. The perp knew what he was doing - staying very close to the victim in order to maximize the effect and the force of perp’s repeatedly stabbing the victim around the abdomen.
From the comments for the article posted by the OP, the following comment by a fellow who has been keeping track of the pro- and anti- Hindu, plus pro- and anti- musliim, cultural wars in Canada (and India, and elsewhere):
“Canada is realizing that they have been breeding these khalistani terrorists just to gain vote banks. Inderdeep Singh Gosal, 32, has been promoting Khalistan and genocide against Hindus openly on his social media before it was taken down by the VPD. #Vancouver #homicide pic.twitter.com/y6ReiJdgkr”

Sacramento Khalistani Gurdwara is the hub of extremism and Hindu hate!
Two people shot at gurdwara in California
The shooting took place on Sunday around 2:30 p.m. at the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society

What is interesting is that the man’s wife could possibly be Hindu.
Great find! Whoever in Canada and the US thought it was a good idea to import this very ugly and bloody dispute needs to have their heads examined. We really don’t need this.
Yes, murder, pure and simple.
Britain has imported millions from both India and Pakistan, who hate each other.
