Apparently it worked. Don’t see hardly anyone from my generation having gone nuts like this.
There were definitely anti-social violent nut cases but they were expelled post haste.
Fighting was tolerated. Anti-social violence and sadism was not. Wiccan and Satanism were not tolerated (expulsion).
Mottos of that time:
Actions have consequences.
Control yourself or someone else will. Etc.
Bullying is worse then ever. If bullying keeps people from going half-cocked, these weirdos should not be shooting children and then themselves.
There probably wasn’t all this 24 hour media back then. And nuts weren’t linking up with other nuts online and encouraging each other. And maybe whoever it was that was kicking the crap out of people have found more constructive outlets. Or maybe oddballs are still getting beaten up and are coming back with guns. In any case, a lot has changed since the old days.
