We are up to 90 million on Medicaid, 69 million receiving SS benefits, and 64 million on Medicare. 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day and will continue to do so until 2030. By 2030, all baby boomers will be older than age 65. This will expand the size of the older population so that 1 in every 5 residents will be retirement age.

By 2034 (previously 2035), there will be 77.0 million (previously 78.0) people 65 years and older compared to 76.5 million (previously 76.7 million) under the age of 18.
