People living longer and linking benefits to the cost of living also increase the costs. Spousal and dependent benefits for those who never paid into the system are also a reason.
That’s true to a degree. Than you have a lot of people like me who could have retired 15 years ago but can’t really afford to. So the govt. picks up more tax revenue. More my age coming back into the work force daily courtesy of 10-15% inflation that eats into anyone on a fixed income.I know they say its a lot less but they all lie.
