Destroying the meritocracy

MIT already did that long ago, when they decided to go from being the world's second greatest engineering school to being a part of the DC consultancy swamp to provide expert policy advice tailored to what gubmint agencies wanted to be told - at a nice comfortable price]. As far as I am aware 1st place CalTech still continues to jealously guard its reputation for technical excellence, but I may be optimistic here as the acid corruption of DEI must have started to eat away at their values too.

Until recently, however, MIT could still boast that its students were from the smartest kids that could be found. Now, like the Ivys who they envy, you have to go elsewhere to find people who actually got an education.

Ironic that a worldview which rejects absolute truth ends up being so intolerant of dissent.

MIT is an engineering school, among other things. Literally one of the best, if not the best, in the world.

As such, only top candidates are allowed to enter. In the context of education and engineering, what factors into becoming a top candidate?

Your grades. Test scores. Related extracurricular projects / studies / activities. That’s about it.

What does not factor into your ranking as a top candidates would be... your height, weight, gender, religion, sexual activities, ancestry, or skin color.

If those factors did apply then such a candidate should expect those aspects to factor into their test scores while in the school... which is absurd.

DEI are nothing but political commissars for the communist “Democratic” Party. They are an cancerous outgrowth of government-controlled corporate HR departments.

Bring in BIG photos of them — place the photos on chairs next to the others.

One group of individuals who will not be defending DEI at the upcoming event is the phalanx of highly paid diversity, equity and inclusion deans at MIT.

That's deans, plural. Wow. How many are required? I'm sure there is a joke in there.... How many DEI deans does it take...

You are propabaly right on this one.

In my day I would rate Stanford #1, Caltech #2 and MIT #3 overall.

Centers of #1 rank excellence were found in isolated programs in all three.

University of Arizona has held down the #1 rank honors in Optical Engineering for 40 years and is still arguably the best.

But Stanford had the disadvantage of being a Liberal Arts college and and the identity, gender and race studies programs combined with a radicalized law school metastasized and is in the process of degrading the technical and medical programs.

MIT people were very sharp but MIT was a hyper competitive pressure cooker that in many ways seemed to carry a bit of an over hyped, over rated rep.

Cal Tech was top notch but Techies were really thin on the ground - kind of the unicorns of the technical world so it was hard to draw general conclusions.

Now Stanford is losing it's mojo after a 40 year assault on excellence by Progressives, MIT has caught the contagion and somehow California located Cal Tech seems to be holding it's own against californicaion and the forces academic Mordor

Good for them! Score one for the unicorns

All one has to do to win the debate is scream “THAT’S RACIST” then pull the fire alarm.

Good news. I’m an alum and told them no more donations until this crap stops. I’m guessing I’m not the only one or this wouldn’t be happening.
