Joe Biden: U.S. will respond ‘forcefully’ to Iranian aggression after drone attack

President Biden on Friday warned that the U.S. stands prepared to “act forcefully” to protect its citizens from attacks after a suspected Iranian-made drone was used in an attack that killed an American contractor and wounded at least five troops in Syria.

In remarks during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa, Mr. Biden offered his condolences to the families of those lost in the attack and commended the U.S. military for its response.

“Make no mistake, the U.S. does not … seek conflict with Iran but be prepared to act forcefully to protect our people,” he said. “That’s exactly what happened last night.”

The Defense Department said in a statement the drone used in the attack against a U.S. base in Syria on Thursday appeared to be of Iranian origin and U.S. Central Command said the attack was carried out by “groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”

Mr. Biden said he was briefed on the attack while aboard Air Force One en route to Canada and ordered a series of air strikes targeting those responsible.

US Troops made sense when the Civil War was on—we were helping our side and the Russian were helping their side. BUT the war is over. Russia and Assad won the war. Why do we need to be there? Is the UN in favor of this? All this is —is Iran trying to open a second front to help Russia out. Iran wants to be at the Peace Table at the end of the war. They see themselves on the winning team now—watch as they do other things to rub America’s nose in it. They know with Ukraine in full gear there is little we can do. I expect them to detonate an atomic bomb in the desert soon. They hope to cut off a piece of Iraq for their trouble. We live in interesting times.

Yeah, and Milley doesn’t mind if Iran has nukes...as long as they don’t use them. Idiot!

Other to protect oil assets that aren’t our and oil that does not come to the US, I haven’t ever understood why we have 900 troops and numerous US contractors in Syria.

It is always about the oil and always about money. Those contractors aren’t there for no reason. They have a base for another war. Looks like someone is going to choose when that happens on their own terms, not ours.

Not good.

What a genius idea! Lets get into a war with iran in the middle east, russia in eastern europe and a naval war with the PRC all at the same time! Just to probe how extra smart they are, why don’t they provoke a civil war with traditional americans too.

I believe you have them pegged to a T.

I would say we know we can’t fight on all those fronts, so next up will be nuke warfare.

We are run by crazy people.

They are currently doing everything in their power to provoke a civil war with traditional Americans also. The traditional Americans just keep taking it.

"I haven’t ever understood why we have 900 troops and numerous US contractors in Syria."

The game remains the same. Foreign governments funnel oil money to the Democrats. It's harder for the Democrats to put the squeeze on domestic companies. I fondly remember the left screaming "no blood for oil." But, if it's blood for oil which benefits Democrats, then it's all good.
