This is probably showmanship.
It would seem odd if Epps didn’t sue.
Presumably by now they believe they’ve covered their tracks on discovery, if it ever gets that far.
Would not be surprised if the suit quitely goes away after generating the desired headlines.

With Perkins Coie involved, maybe Epps wasn't working directly for the FBI, but rather for the Clintons. Of course he still needs to have friends in the DOJ that are protecting him from prosecution nonetheless.

“Demanding an apology” is a long way from filing a lawsuit. It sounds to me like he’s afraid of the discovery interviews that would be required in a lawsuit.
