Alongside the amendment, many Republican lawmakers have opposed adding an open carry amendment to the legislation, with Senate President Kathleen Passidomo saying she does not support open carry because the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) is against it.
“Republicans are showing their true colors on restoring our Second Amendment rights here in Florida. Whether it’s repealing gun free zones that only put innocent people in danger, or having the guts to pass Open Carry, they are failing miserably.” GOA Florida State Director Luis Valdes told the DCNF.

This is the FLORIDA state Senate, not the U.S. Senate, which is its own unique problem for Americans. The GOPee in Florida is apparently too p*ssy to allow Floridians from Miami to Pensacola to carry openly.

Meanwhile, the Democrats are trying to get their base out by putting an amendment on the statewide ballot to legalize pot. Medical Mary Jane is already legal.

The real issue here is not whether the government should “allow” open carry, but rather remove all prohibitions against it. If the government allows you to do something, it is assumed to have the right to do so.
As I mentioned just yesterday on another thread, the GOP majority we have here in the Sunshine State, despite it's great work on many other fronts of the culture wars and institutionalized insanity that have swept across this great land, is lackluster in terms of firearms. Too many folks there who have walked on too much concrete, and too little wild grass.
Yeah, like the Dems really want guns in the Capitol. Kabuki theater and grist for their media (CNN, ABC, NBC, etc).
