Not so fast. There is a strong possibility Jacksonville will have its first Democrat mayor since 1993 after the runoff election. DeSantis has done a great job but blue state migration and foreign national migration are ticking time bombs here.
I think you need to double check your facts.
The previous mayor of Jacksonville was a Democrat. Alvin Brown was mayor from 2011 to 2015.
And it is pretty questionable to use the mayor of Jacksonville as a gauge for how right or left leaning Florida is. Jacksonville has only had 4 Republican mayors since the 1800s and one of those was originally elected as a Democrat. There are still some liberal strongholds in Florida - but they don’t dictate how the state goes.
