I made that same exact comment at another site. Trump in handcuffs would be shown in campaign ads FOR Trump. With a narrator speaking of banana republics and prosecution of political adversaries.
If the left thinks the optics would be good for them, I believe they are sorely mistaken due to the fact that they only poll Trump haters who get their news from the NYT and WaPo. Those people are not ever going to support Trump so they do not matter. It will be the libertarians and independents that it sways to Trump’s side.
And he'll increase his "female" soccer mom vote as they will be sad and upset.
It would mend a few fences with any given J6 defendant who might still see Trump as having been rather late to voice politically incorrect support for their cause.
