Wether or not the money was paid was never in question, it was admitted to a long time ago and it was NEVER A CRIME.
It’s undisputed that the payment, as you say, is not a crime. Damn the laziness of even conservative media for not making this clear. It’s the method by which it was reimbursed to Michael Cohen that is the subject of a seriously twisted interpretation of the law, and the attempt to turn a real stretch of a time-barred misdemeanor into a felony.
I recommend everyone take a listen to John Solomon’s podcast from yesterday in which Cohen’s lawyer burns Cohen right to the ground. But for the likely corrupt jury in NYC, this could all be just laughed off
Yep, they’re trying to mislead the know-nothing masses into believing that the payment itself was a crime, and that Trump was trying to cover it up. None of that is true or even at issue, of course, but by pointing the masses toward a simple provable fact they deceive them into thinking this is an open and shut case and Trump is “guilty.”
This is what were dealing with. Folks who either dont know or dont care about facts. They will lecture you all day about Trump but have no idea what they are actually arguing about.
Bingo. Trying to say it was a campaign expense is the flimsiest legal argument ever. If it were not New York he would be pulled from office and probably have his license suspended for such a stunt. Instead, he'll probably be voted in to a higher office for going after orange man. After all, most sane New Yorkers have already left the State.
Guess they need a firing squad then
Exactly. An idiot asked the wrong question, purposely.
