“Pinging Trackheads..
To train a crew in that MOS (after BCT) is about 18 weeks.”
For youngsters straight out of BCT, my generation trained into M 60’s in 8 weeks.
Fifteen years later, we cross trained from M 60A1’s into M 1’s in two weeks.
It’s going to depend on how quickly they adapt, but 18 weeks? No.
WWW III would solve a lot of problems in the minds of the deranged ruling elite.

Love to own one of those tanks.
> How many hundreds of hours does it take to train a tank crew for an Abrams?
8 weeks should be plenty if they’ve already had prior experience on other tanks.

That’s peacetime training.
I attended Armor OBC in 1991. Just to get a Lieutenant ready to take any active platoon was a five month course. Then once you got to your unit, your real training would begin with your platoon sergeant. Thank God I had a couple of great ones.

8-10 months:
6 months to train up a contractor to remove the depleted uranium armor safely.
4 months to actually remove the armor and refurbish the tanks.
Shipping and handling another 2 months until actually in Ukraine.
So overall all, a 10-12 month timeline.
I would expect that there have NOT been Ukrainian personel, training in simulators in the US for the past year?

except there have been.
Poland is more likely to send F-16s then the US.

The older M1s in storage lack the highly prized, secret, and more sophisticated armor, sensors, and fire control of the latest models. With renovations, the old models will be better than anything else on the battlefield in Ukraine. Such a need is why many older Abrams tanks were retained instead of all being junked at the end of the Cold War.
The original indicators were that the intent was to ship the few M1 Abrams that hadn't been retrofitted... One of the lessons from Gulf War 2 was that only an M1 could kill an M1. Biden seems to want to correct that.
Meanwhile, in polluted Ohio and hurricane ravaged Florida, crickets...
What's the big deal? Biden's handlers won't be the ones vaporized by a Satan 3.
I’m sure
Yep
Exactly - they’ll be in the multi-million dollar bunkers
What, them worry?
AN-225 destroyed but do they have an AN-124?
