The last time I had the sourdough French toast, it was dipped in egg, then dipped in batter and DEEP FRIED!
It was perfect!
Must be a Georgia speciality. I remember French toast in Savannah in 1998. It was fabulous.
Not deep fried though. Your choice sounds wonderful.
