Trump would likely take it up the ladder to Fl SC. If they uphold extradition then DeSantis could deny it as he has that power.

The Governor has no discretion when presented with a facially correct request for extradition, and while the person sought may seek a writ of habeas corpus, the Florida Court may not interfere with the extradition, unless, while considering the writ (Florida Statutes, Title XLVII, CRIMINAL PROCEDURE AND CORRECTIONS, Sec.941.10 Rights of accused person; application for writ of habeas corpus ... )(2)... a court finds that the person in custody is not the same person named in the warrant, or that the person is not a fugitive from justice, or otherwise subject to extradition under s. 941.06, or that there is no criminal charge or criminal proceeding pending against the person in the demanding state, or that the documents are not on their face in order, the person named in the warrant shall be held in custody at all times and shall not be eligible for release on bail.

Given that Trump would not be eligible for bail, while litigating a writ of habeas corpus, I doubt he will take his case to the Florida Supreme Court.

Someone quoted the US constitution where is says that extradition could not be blocked if the person had Fled charges in another state.

So I pointed out the definition of “Fled”.

Here is the definition of “Fled”:

verb
run away from a place or situation of danger.
“a man was shot twice as he fled from five masked youths”
synonyms: run, run away, run off, make a run for it, run for it, take flight, be gone, make off, take off, take to one’s heels, make a break for it, bolt, beat a (hasty) retreat, make a quick exit, make one’s getaway, escape, absent oneself, make oneself scarce, abscond, head for the hills, do a disappearing act, beat it, clear off, clear out, vamoose, skedaddle, split, cut and run, show a clean pair of heels, turn tail, scram, do a runner, scarper, do a bunk, leg it, light out, bug out, cut out, peel out, take a powder, skiddoo, go through, shoot through, fly, run away from, leave hastily/abruptly, escape from, skip, bugger off

I don’t see how they can say that Trump did any of that.

A misdemeanor charge that is beyond the statute of limitations, cannot possibly be considered by any reasonable sane person, a criminal charge.

Instead of a BS link, just post the statute:

941.10 Rights of accused person; application for writ of habeas corpus.—
(1) No person arrested upon such warrant shall be delivered over to the agent whom the executive authority demanding the person shall have appointed to receive him or her unless the person shall first be taken forthwith before a judge of a court of record in this state, who shall inform the person of the demand made for his or her surrender and of the crime with which the person is charged, and that the person has the right to demand and procure legal counsel; and if the prisoner or his or her counsel shall state that he or she or they desire to test the legality of the arrest, the judge of such court of record shall fix a reasonable time to be allowed him or her within which to apply for a writ of habeas corpus. When such writ is applied for, notice thereof, and of the time and place of hearing thereon, shall be given to the state attorney for the county in which the arrest is made, and in which the accused is in custody, and to the said agent of the demanding state. 941.10 Rights of accused person; application for writ of habeas corpus.
(2) A warrant issued under s. 941.07 shall be presumed to be valid, and unless a court finds that the person in custody is not the same person named in the warrant, or that the person is not a fugitive from justice, or otherwise subject to extradition under s. 941.06, or that there is no criminal charge or criminal proceeding pending against the person in the demanding state, or that the documents are not on their face in order, the person named in the warrant shall be held in custody at all times and shall not be eligible for release on bail.

This whole thing is far from a slam dunk for the corrupt Soros DA.
