Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued an ominous warning on Monday, suggesting that Russia could strike the International Criminal Court (ICC) with a hypersonic missile in response to its decision to issue an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin. Attempts to try Putin in the ICC would have "monstrous" consequences for international law, Medvedev, deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said in a statement on his Telegram channel. The ICC, which is based in The Hague in the Netherlands, concluded on Friday that the Russian leader had committed war crimes in his full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which started almost 13 months ago, citing the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children. It marked the first time that an arrest warrant has been issued against the leader of one of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council. "The ICC judges got excited in vain. Look, they say, we are brave, and we raised a hand against the largest nuclear power without c******* ourselves," wrote Medvedev.

And right after that, Davos (in session, of course)
I’ll buy it.
The story I liked better was the Russian Embassy workers that DID get taken hostage in Lebanon in the early 80’s. A couple of days after the group issued demands, body parts of some of the female relatives of terrorists known to be associated with the group started showing up in Beirut...
Hostages were returned, no additional hostages taken by ANY group in Lebanon, and a valuable lesson illustrated — be as ruthless and heartless as your lawless opposition and you got a shot at dealing with them and getting your way.
F Russia. Get somee cajones and stand up to this nonsense.
Tuco said, “When you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.”
Go for it, Dmitri!!
It could well be that Medvedev (in cahoots with Putin) is telling the hawks in Washington to be careful what they wish for. Biden is on record calling for regime change in Russia, and an ICC indictment is one of our fave tools for signalling regime change is the only acceptable outcome to the hawks*. Well, Medvedev is next in line to succeed Putin. How would the hawks like them apples? Would they really prefer Medvedev to Putin?

Okay, it’s Aljazeera, but nails the hypocrisy:
“The United States firmly opposes and is deeply disappointed by this decision,” Blinken howled. “The ICC has no jurisdiction over this matter. Israel is not a party to the ICC and has not consented to the Court’s jurisdiction, and we have serious concerns about the ICC’s attempts to exercise its jurisdiction over Israeli personnel.”
Trump used sanctions instead of missiles:

Ah yes the same rationality of Russian leadership
The ICC is an even bigger joke. When are they going to issue an arrest warrant for Xi? Red China's human rights violations sure seem to meet the ICC's criteria for a criminal case. But nothing will ever happen because the ICC knows better than to step on Red China's toes.
LOL! And I thought I had a good mastery of that... skill. I’m gonna guess “crapping”; it’s the only word I can think of that even remotely fits.
I would be OK with that.
I’d rather they hit the WEF headquarters in Geneva along with the WHO headquarters.
Simulcast with WWE Wrestling.
Please send Putin the coordinates for the UN building too.
I’d be good with that
More John Bolton misinformation. (unfortunately)
“Corn-Pop Putin”
The official US policy towards the ICC since 2002.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Service-Members%27_Protection_Act
“ This authorization led to the act being colloquially nicknamed “The Hague Invasion Act”, as the act allows the President to order U.S. military action, such as an invasion of The Hague, where the ICC is located, to protect American officials and military personnel from prosecution or rescue them from custody”
Plenty of stupidity going on with this. Russia is no longer a signatory of the Treaty that established the ICC. They have no jurisdiction even if they were able to get Mr. Putin to a Courtroom.
Russia could have simply pointed out that the ICC is irrelevant to Russia. It’s stupid to bring up this missile nonsense (the ICC is in the Netherlands, a NATO member).
The ICC won’t ever try Putin and Russia isn’t going to start a war with NATO over something so trivial.
