What they call “gender affirming” care is just “affirming” an errant lying mental obsession. I consider it akin to “treating” an addict by insuring the addict has access to what they are addicted to, instead of asisting the addict with getting out of their addiction. True sympathetic and compassionate care for someone with an identy dysphoria is to help them get out of the errant mental obsessions they have. Yes, that can be emotionally tense, and requires alot of compassion while remaining steadfast against the lie of the obession. And yes, parents would like it easy, like to avoid the emotionally tense process and just “give in” to the child’s error. But, for the sake of the child’s lifelong happiness giving in to gender dysphoria is not “compassionate”.
