BERLIN (AP) — Publication of a major new United Nations report on climate change is being held up by a battle between rich and developing countries over emissions targets and financial aid to vulnerable nations.
The report by hundreds of the world’s top scientists was supposed to be approved by government delegations Friday at the end of a weeklong meeting in the Swiss town of Interlaken.
The report by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is meant to cap a series that digests vasts amounts of research on global warming compiled since the Paris climate accord was agreed in 2015.
At the start of the meeting U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on delegates to provide “ cold, hard facts ” to drive home the message that there’s little time left for the world to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Among the thorniest issues at the current meeting are how to define which nations count as vulnerable developing countries, making them eligible for cash from a ‘loss and damage’ fund agreed at the last U.N. climate talks in Egypt. Delegates have also battled over figures stating how much greenhouse gas emissions need to be cut by over the coming years, and how to include artificial or natural carbon removal efforts in the equations.
As the country that has released the biggest amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere since industrialization, the United States has pushed back strongly against the notion of historic responsibility for climate change.

Climate models are not scientific. There are no experiments that can be peer replicated and reviewed. Generating hypothesis by computer and presenting it as fact is not the scientific process.
Certainly, look at the eff’n low IQ, totally indoctrinated, leftist groomer teachers that give passing grades to anyone that will repeat the tripe they spew.
The report is a consensus of ‘hundreds’ of the world’s top scientists.
It’s a consensus and not science. It’s the same type of consensus that democrats use to quote the science of Covid and for climate change.

BRILLIANT wording by the Left - making people THINK that the US is the main problem. Specifically note the clever term “since industrialization”.
But if you look at 2021 numbers (as opposed to cumulative numbers), you find that China’s CO2 emissions are now nearly 3 TIMES as much as the US (33% vs 12.5% of world emissions), and FAR MORE than the US and EU combined (33% vs. 20%). Additionally, China plus India are now emitting TWICE as much CO2 as the US and EU combined (40% vs. 20%), and ALL future growth in emissions will come from China and India, as the West continues to de-industrialize, thanks to the Globalists.

So, what the US and the West did in the past MEANS NOTHING, unless someone can explain how to time travel.
I suspect that the reason for PROTECTING CHINA here is because, thanks to the Neocons, China is now our enemy, and so if people point out that CHINA IS THE PROBLEM...then they’ll be asking why we need to further de-industrialize when China has no plans to do the same. This is also a question that many here have asked over the past decade, and have yet to get a coherent response - but, again, with China as the enemy now, the Left seems to fear that mainstream people will start asking that same question.
I am still regretting passing up the opportunity to get into the school of top scientists while in university because I could get through engineering school just a wee bit quicker
Global cooling, global warming, climate change, whatever they want to call it today is not the issue. The issue with communists is never the issue. Global whatever is a method to eliminate diminish Western Civilization and freedom. That is the issue.
The only role science plays in this is that of a corrupt institution that is willing to trade its integrity for current cash and future enslavement.
