Chris Sununu: Money U.S. Spending to Defend Ukraine Is a ‘Deal’
Breitbart ^ | 03/19/2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 03/19/2023 7:26:18 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH), a potential 2024 contender, said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the money the United States is spending to help Ukraine in the War against Russia is a “deal.”

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “According to CNN polls, about 40% of Republican voters are supporting Donald Trump right now, about 36% are supporting Ron DeSantis. You haven’t declared yesterday, so I guess my question is, that’s a big chunk of the Republican Party supporting people who disagree with you on how vital Ukraine is. Explain to a Republican voter out there, who is skeptical of why this is in the national interest, other than notions of the U.S. stands for freedom, why is this in the national interest to support Ukraine in the war?”

Ukraine hated Stalin.

After THEIR Declaration of Independence, I’m on their side.

"Ukraine hated Stalin."

Plenty of native-born Russians hated Stalin too. Ukraine organized its own Nazi Waffen SS units, siding with Germany in WWII. After our Declaration of Independence, I'm on our side, seeing as fascists/commies have taken over our country. Those are my priorities, not some battle skirmishes between two countries that have nothing to do with the national security interests of the people living here. The only ones promoting this war, are the people getting rich off it.

The Manhattan Republican Party, and the New York Republican State Committee isn't any better either.

Why does the US pay for Ukraine pensions etc. (while Mayorkas and Biden are happy about the invasion through our southern border)? Why doesn’t Europe pay for all the non-military expenses? I would assume those will be continued indefinitely, as long as the the Big Guy and gang (who will still be here after Biden is gone) get theirs.

I agree. It’s in Europe backyard...let them deal with, and pay for it. Is any other country sending us money to protect our borders? Why would any American with half-a-brain be concerned about Ukraine’s borders, when our own borders are being overrun every day, putting the lives of innocent people here at risk, not to mention destroying our economy. I just don’t get it. Why is Ukraine their priority? Are they that stupid?

I have read a claim that weapons we send to Ukraine are mostly surplus. We would have a lot more surplus if the Biden gang had not left so much in Afghanistan. But let's assume that sending weapons does not cost that much, and that those weapons will keep Russia from gobbling up Ukraine and Moldova. Congress insists on the US paying for "pensions," reconstruction, etc etc. For how many years?

As soon as we withdrew from Afghanistan we found new opportunities in Ukraine. What a coincidence!

Ukraine’s ample natural riches will richen Putin’s ambitions.

Like Titanium and food production...

"I have read a claim that weapons we send to Ukraine are mostly surplus."

That's all they are, are claims. I don't believe anything the Pentagon, White House, or the media spins. They might be surplus, they might not. Bottom line, there is no accountability for the military equipment, nor the money that's been been sent to Ukraine. This problem belongs to the rest of Europe. Let them send their surplus military equipment, and money to secure Ukraine's borders. It's not our fight. We've got our own borders to protect here, and plenty other things here to fight against.

I have seen reports that artillery pieces and their ammo have to be manufactured. Maybe hand-held arms are surplus.

Is that why only the US, not Europe, can pay Ukraine's pensions? I don't think so.

The other concern I have is that Biden will claim he is the hero who defeated Russia, the media will repeat the lie, and gullible voters will believe it. I remember when Trump was POTUS Russia did not invade Ukraine.

"Ukraine’s ample natural riches will richen Putin’s ambitions."

That Europe's problem. We have problems here that need to be resolved.

Biden is a stooge controlled by his handlers, and the media accommodates them. Yes, there are plenty of gullible voters. There always has been. Unfortunately our elections are compromised, and until something is done about that, nothing will get any better.

Actually Russia who I’m in balance more sympathetic to here is getting the steal

In the end when they annex eastern Ukraine to whatever extent they will own 80-90% of the industrial output and GDP and the bulk of the most educated populace as well as most natural resources outside of brown loam

Rump Ukraine will be mostly agriculture

A fact not lost on Putin in his zeal to free his kinsman from oppression from Keev lol

“Is that why only the US, not Europe, can pay Ukraine’s pensions? I don’t think so.”

Russia’s nuclear submarines are made from Titanium. Our Russian problem far exceeds Ukraine’s pensioners.

In fact, we should be trimming the USA’s MARXIST UNION educators’ budgets!

Having Europe pay for pensions and other nation-building-money-laundering does NOT prevent US military aid to Ukraine, but Europe is not eager to pay for some strange reason.

I heard Sununu over a week ago, and my thought was he sounded like a Republican who could pick up aome Dem votes in a national election. Since Hogan says he will not run, who else is a likely candidate?
