I think DeSantis is smart enough to know that Trump is turning off people on the right every time he calls anyone who he deems as a GOP opponent tacky names. By coming out with an endorsement for Trump after that, DeSantis would also be ‘turning off’ those same people. It would be stupid for him to do so (a lose-lose scenario)....especially since we don’t even know yet if the left will be successful in disqualifying Trump from ever running again. Ron is waiting to see which way the cat jumps, IOW. Logical move on his part.

I ask this question of most DeSantis for president supporters who either slither away or go slimy, claiming he’s not running.

Why do you assume Trump did not ask DeSantis for an endorsement first?
I assume Trump asked for the endorsement first. DeSantis said hang it on the wall. That’s my assumption.
