I put YoutubeTv on ‘pause’ for 60 days. Unable to cancel it entirely. They don’t make it easy.
The free YouTube has too many commercial interruptions-gotta pay the piper.
We have ROKU, Sling TV orange, and an antenna. There are some good air broadcast channels I watch regularly. I do pay separately for APPLE TV.
Still a lot cheaper than COMCAST.
COMCAST can bite me.
Great way to look at it! The only thing that you have lost is the expense of trying to ‘kill the time’ by watching liberal crap. I hope everyone can be more productive with their time!
I have Pluto TV as a free app on ROKU. Good stuff.
hulu plus live is a fair price compared to Spectrum which is about twice that for their TV channels.
My provider, Fubo TV, jacked their rates up last month.
Who is your internet provider that you use to stream?
That’s sort of where I am. Except I’m on the internet way too much. It has basically replaced tv watching for me which I have concluded I watched way too much in my life so not watching now is sort of a rebalancing. If I can cut down on the internet I’ll be in my happy place.
“Why would anyone pay to watch Youtube? ”
Not YouTube, but YouTube TV. It is a cable streaming service from the same company, with all the “regular” cable channels plus live locals and sports. I recently subscribed as an alternative to Xfinity. Currently I am paying $191 less per month now when you consider the cost of renting Xfinity boxes and various fees.
It was the very best of the streaming services. But I had to drop them over a year ago because of their increased prices. We don’t really miss the streaming capability, just the bills! :-)
All of the Streaming TV services prices have gone and are just as bad as cable prices now. There are no bargains out there although I think there may be a couple still low, then again they don’t offer much either.
I cut the cord a long time ago and I have a ROKU and I have plenty to watch. I pay for a couple of premium services, but I start and drop different ones depending on what they have I want to see. Nothing really permanent except Amazon Prime.
The only channel I wish was available on Streaming that I could get is TCM for the movies, but I can give without it. I figure at some point they will finally put a stand alone channel out there for less than $10 a month.
That has been going for a few years now.
It’s YouTube premium TV, it’s like subscribing to cable.
Streaming is the future, the only reason it's taking so long is that the providers need to figure out how to scalp consumers.
“I have Pluto TV as a free app on ROKU. Good stuff.”
Wifey wanted to watch “Judgement At Nuremberg”. The only place I could find it online was on Pluto, and it was free. If you want to watch any sporting event, try DofuSports. Also free, and we watch games that are locally blacked out. (She is a Steelers fan)
How high is too high?
Thanks for the tip!
As a test, I just opened and edited a PDF with the free Libre Office.
You are correct. YoutubeTV supplies local channels, cable channels and movie channels.
Their major benefit is unlimited cloud DVR service at no additional cost. I have it record everything I plan to watch, including sporting events, and then I watch them on delay. I skip all of the commercials. I haven’t watched a commercial in three years. I was paying Comcast at least $50 more than I now pay YoutubeTV. So, the cost is relatively less expensive.
As far as I know, the other streaming services don’t offer that service yet. When they do, I’ll start shopping again.
SlingTV just flipped out again.
