“DeSantis Strips! — the Liquor License From Hotel That Held Drag Show with Kids Present”
Or did he. Nothing personal with DeSantis (now that he understands Ukraine, I’m fine with him), but has anyone actually visited that hotel and tried to order a drink?
The reason that I ask is that it sounds too easy...there almost certainly has to be a catch.
The hotel didn’t lose their license on the spot. They can serve liquor until the appeal is heard. Usually the liquor licenses are a local issue, but evidently the state government can intervene.
“...but has anyone actually visited that hotel and tried to order a drink?”
Of course it depends upon several factors-—does the hotel have a semi-nightclub affiliated w/it? Is there a sizable lunch crowd? Does the loss of liquor license apply to beer & wine?
I’d have to think the loss of the LL would be a big smelly deal to management. Big. Liquor licenses vary wildly as to how much they cost, and I unsuccessfully spent a solid minute and a half trying to find out the cost of one, but for a Hyatt, I’d suspect it’s fairly well into six figures.
