Crashed from being shot down?
I remember when Trump reneged on bombing the radar sites in Iran over them downing a drone... I thought it was the right decision.
Just wondering. Do drones like this carry some sort of on board system that would detect an approaching aircraft and notify the operator. Next question. Do drones carry cameras that provide a 360 degree view of its surroundings in real time to the operator. Final question. Do these drones carry an explosive device that can be initiated remotely to destroy the drone in the event it wondered off course or was being forced down in hostile territory.
Propeller broken by wing of jet...
I'm no expert but I wouldn't think a Spitfire (top speed 250mph) would be able to catch up to a V-1 (top speed 400mph) or survive any kind of impact with one.
All three would seem to be logical capabilities. We’ll see if any FReeper here knows...
Not sure what exactly happened here. We will likely get propaganda from both sides. It seems fighter jets should have the right of way over drones.
If I was in a fighter jet and saw a drone on a potential collision course or even near the jet I would want to take it out. Bye bye drone.
Same here. Easy to start wars, sometimes impossible to end them.
Max speed of Spitfire was 369 mph. I had heard that they did conduct this maneuver.
What? Why?
I thought this was pretty well-known.
The trick was to flip the wing to force a crash before it flew over a populated area.
Splashed Pred ‘B’ leaves little behind
Except for the PowerPlant and a ton of
Nasty wires with small black boxes attached.
I seen pitchers
2023: Remember the Drone!
Remote Controlled ???
.
I’d say YES.
LOL. If Russia were China they would claim the entire Black Sea as theirs and build artificial islands in it...and no one would do a thing
I don’t know about the 1940 version, but late-war (1943+) Spitfires were capable of top speeds of 440 mph.
It got heavily upgraded. As with the Mustang, a new engine changed everything.
Well compared to the cost of the old pipeline, it is a rounding error and quite frankly the drones are disposable in DOD terms with hundreds in stock from the war or terror. For the operators better story than floating around truth or consequences NM and watching that little dog on 3rd and Vista.
Interesting tactics.
.
You have the Elevators to dodge
But you’d be a he’ll of an Aviator!
I’m sorry, BOTH the Drone and the Jet would have augured in.
