What exactly are the judicial reforms they’re talking about?
1. Presently, the Bar Association picks five high-court judges, and the legislature and cabinet pick four. Reform is now the Bar Association picks four, and the legislature and cabinet pick five.
2. Presently, if the court makes a decision, you have to abide by it, no appeal and no recourse. Reform is that the legislature can override a bad ruling by simple majority.
There’s plenty of wiggle room there, but imho the reforms don’t go far enough.
The neo-Marxist Supreme Court in Israel has dictatorial powers over the Knesset and the Executive branch of Israel's government.
The appointment of Supreme Court Judges in Israel is a corrupt travesty. They are responsible to no one!
