I wonder just how many large companies/corporations have uninsured deposits in banks??? They got to put their money someplace
Not anymore.
Maybe time to buy SVB stock before diaper man bails them out.
No one has insured deposits over 250k.
FDIC limit is $250,000 per account
And if you read the fine print, the FDIC has 30 years to pay you back…
The Cash is gone. Bye Bye.
At least until Uncle Sugar and his brother Uncle Joe say “Don’t worry, we’ve got your back.”
A failure like this will ripple through lots of high-tech companies then ripple to all of their customers. It can be a massive drag on the economy and threaten stability. The government will step in and “fix” this like they’ve done so many times before. Count on it.
By Monday a bailout will be ready. Phone calls and favors are being called in , not to mention bribes being paid. On Monday the Fed and the FDIC will have a deal in place to make everyone whole. They may have no choice.
Yep.
Yep, $250K per account. So what genius put in more into each account. Seriously, it cannot be that difficult to divide up the money in $250K or less amounts.
Only the first $250,000 is ‘insured’... Which is NOTHING...
“FDIC limit is $250,000 per account”
Actually 250k per person on account. Joint account 500k. I’m not sure about if there is a limit on how many people can be on an a account. But my father’s 750k CD is “covered” by having myself and my sister all named on the account.
Roku stupid or one hell of a con job with the president of the bank?.
The cash is not “gone”. That is the good news for Roku.
But—the bad news is even worse.
They need to stay afloat until the cash arrives—and that could be many months—maybe even years—until the liquidation of the bank is settled.
Can they do it?
We will see.

Are uninsured cash deposits ahead of stockholders? (That is how I remember it.)
BTTT!!!
money flows into and out of many of the accounts, for payroll etc..
Depends on how much money you’ve got to put around. $1.9 billion/ 250K means having to find 7600 FDIC banks to put money in. According to the FDIC there’s only 4746 such banks. So that runs into a problem.
