From Deutsche Welle: “Police said the background and potential motive behind the shooting during a Jehovah’s Witnesses event were unclear.
“We have no indications of a perpetrator on the run,” a police spokesperson said at the scene.
They said there are “indications that a perpetrator may have been in the building and may be even among the dead.”
I want to speculate on the “indications”. Perhaps skin tone? Non-German style clothing? Literature in a non-Western type font....
In the case of this guy....35 years old. Was a management consultant. Plain German, no ethnic background. Had been a member of the religious group up until 18 months ago, then departed in a unfriendly manner (police have interviewed members to reach this conclusion).
Some people (having known him) describe the guy as eccentric (avoiding term ‘crazy’). Gun license was achieved in the past year....no issues. Gun was legally purchased.
I’d just say from various stories reported...whichever way he departed the group...he held a grudge and this was on his mind constantly. Element of a mental breakdown fill in the holes of the story. I would be curious if he was under some mental healthcare, or on some medication.
