Nah, check the recent legislation in KY”

So I’m guessing the Governor (Andy Beshear) (D) will nominate the squishiest on the list the state Pubs gives him.
It’d be funny as hell if the KY pubbies give Beshear a list of two absolute hell-raisers and Matt Bevin. However, Bevin PO’d a lot of moderates by appearing to sneak around with pension reform, so, his re-electability might be in question.
BTW, wouldn’t John Thune be in line for US Senate Minority leader?
I should add that IMO that wasn't actually Bevin's fault, it was more the KY House and Senate leadership acting as if they'd studied under McConnell diligently, but were less deft in action.
Bevin also PO'd the teacher's unions, which was in the cards anyway, but he did not respond effectively to the major and well funded campaign they waged against him, from what I could see from "next door". Someone really tuned into KY state politics might have more insight.
Interesting. In that case, move on Mitch!
KY legislation prevents him from appointing a full throated honest lib, or a re-registered recently lib as a replacement, which leaves it better than some states. But note the three choices come from the state party’s Executive Committee. In most states that’s a bunch of RNC level RINOs who’ll annoint one of their own and then push them as an ‘incumbent’ in the next primary season. However a few states have shown their Exec Committees can be taken over by the grassroots. In a state election year perhaps the KY grassroots will try that.
