And, taking a step back, with many GOP hopefuls likely vying for the 24 nom, why come across as a petulant, pugilistic internecine name-caller, when wisdom, optimism, and Reagan-like GOP political harmony would win him more votes?
I'll vote for Trump if he wins the nom, however that appears to be unlikely, and Trump's childish behavior may be the primary reason for his primary losses.

BECAUSE THE TIMES CALL FOR THE “CONSTRUCTION GUY FROM QUEENS” APPROACH.

When you hire [e.g. vote for] the Construction Guy from Queens, you get a certain “petulant, pugilistic internecine name-calling” persona. So what. The cost is worth the benefit (e.g. results).
