For all Rove's number crunching skills, he missed the identical pattern of funny numbers in a half dozen states. When it comes to moving on the GOP should look in Rove's mirror and his track record for the last 20 years. The GOP base started moving on from Rove when Bush won his second term.
Many Freepers remember when Rove was "the magnificent bastard". My memory is before while Bush was campaigning in 2004 the DC Republican attitude became "who else are they going to vote for" toward the GOP base (Does anyone else remember that?).
Rove started pushing his brand of elitism toward the base in Republican campaigns. Win now, even if it clearly risks losing later is not a problem for him. Every few years the Republicans pay for it.

A complete nobody who kicked out of a couple and went to 4 colleges and I don’t think graduated from any of them is the person who the GOP Elite put their faith in to guide them to victory and advise their policy decisions?
