Yeah, sure, it could possibly be done by some individual, but I find it hard to believe that the Russian chain of command has no control over their active soldiers posting crap on the internet directly from the battlefield. Aside from the logistical difficulties, such as finding a usable internet connection, etc., there is a little thing called OpSec that is practiced by pretty much every modern military, and soldiers get imprisoned or shot for things like that. So I would consider the "individual Russian guy" explanation to be at least as ludicrous as the Russian military, themselves, posting it. But hey, who knows.

The bottom line is that, due to all the obvious BS coming from there, I don't believe a damn thing coming out of that region and I can't imagine why other people do.

There is very strong support for Putin the individual among some here, many of them have been devotees to Putin since his shirtless days, years ago on FR.

A lot of the Russia support comes from the attraction to the strong man Putin image and his firm decisive hand as they perceive it, he is even idolized as a deeply Christian leader by some here and possibly a savior of Christianity.

There are even a few who throw Red China into the ‘Russia is our last hope’ mix.

If you’re a Russian soldier who’s intent on executing prisoners, the last thing you want, is to have anyone learn about it. Now every Uke soldier is going to go out shooting. No chance for prisoners, at least living prisoners. The only way a UKe soldier is going to be taken, is if he’s seriously wounded and unconscious, otherwise, even if gutshot, it’s in the UKE soldier’s best interest to take as many Russians with him as he can. So, I’d guess the video is propaganda.
