I recall years ago on this very same FR forum proclaiming how dumb I thought people were for actually paying for radio. Well, the jokes on me, I guess. I’ve now had Sirius XM for quite a few years and really enjoy it. I listen to Channel 63 (Christian) almost daily. Often, I have it on in my workshop for the better part of the day. Nothing else like it. I absolutely hate commercials. Hate ‘em. To me it’s worth paying not to have idiotic commercials or, worse — far worse — hearing infuriating political ads.
So, I am now one of the dumb ones who has been paying for radio. Channel 63 and their anchors are absolutely terrific. But yes, in listening to some other channels, the DJs do seem to like to hear their own voice more and more. By the way, I refuse to pay for Howard Stern and my subscription reflects that.
i got the sirius xm 3 months free trial when i bought my new toyota tacoma last october...
never used it...
they keep sending me emails to reactivate it for $5.00 a month...
Apple CarPlay is probably destroying the company.
I have a choice right now and I’m going with Apple CarPlay.
I could see a need if I regularly was driving in areas without cell service, but not on a regular basis.
Hopefully they cut the Stormy Warren guy who does mornings on The Highway. What a full of himself blowhard. You almost never hear any music in the morning because he’s always blabbing about this and that. Just let Marcie (with an “ie”) do the show and play the music.
I did not cancel over the phone. I searched their site for an address and sent a letter to cancel the service, which they did.
I have been getting calls from SXM which I assume is an attempt to sign me back up. I rarely drive anymore so I won’t.
I miss Cousin Brucie but they still have Casey Kasem’s countdown on Saturday. Brings back some good memories.
