You have to have small demonstrations, but lots of them. Too many and too small to infiltrate and steer wrong.
I admit I am the paranoid sort, but the FBI appears to have geared up COINTELPRO 2.0 these days.
Folks really should read the history—the Wikipedia article has the basic facts correct:

They ran the operation for fourteen years in four different presidencies—you can’t get more Deep State than that.
They monitored anything and everything—tried an endless list of dirty tricks and nasty tactics.
We should expect no less.
I have to point out two of the most successful COINTELPRO operations of all—they got the Black Panther leaders hating on each other like cats and dogs...
and then did it again with the Black Muslims (Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X—probably the cause of the Malcolm X assassination)....
kinda reminds me of Trump and DeSantis supporters...
but as I say I am one of those paranoid sorts.
