UK intelligence analysts have claimed that warm weather conditions will cause muddy roads and make it difficult for armored vehicles to move near Bakhmut, but this is to the advantage of Ukrainian defenders
“bezdorizhzhia better known as the rasputitsa (распу́тица) in Russian”

Thank you so much for your Comment #16 with that information.

I knew of the impact the Spring weather condition brought to traveling... but was totally unaware that an actual term existed!

I researched further & found this article:
https://global.espreso.tv/british-intelligence-rising-temperatures-and-muddy-bezdorizhzhia-will-complicate-offensive-actions-near-bakhmut

“Experts noted that while ‘Ukrainian forces continue their defence of Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, rising temperatures are now creating the muddy conditions known in Ukrainian as ‘bezdorizhzhia’, limiting cross country movement.’

These factors, according to the intelligence text, typically provide military advantage to the defending forces.”

The Russians are already there and pounding the city with artillery. How does muddy roads help the Ukranians? They are stuck being pounded by artillery and will have extreme difficulty moving supplies to Bakhmut, if they can resupply Bakhmut at all.
