COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M University system will be removing its diversity, equity and inclusion statements from hiring and admission practices.

This decision comes after a memo from Gov. Greg Abbott's office told state agency and public university leaders the use of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives — policies that support groups who have been historically underrepresented or discriminated against — is illegal in hiring.

After receiving the Feb. 6 memo, Texas A&M Chancellor John Sharp immediately ordered all A&M System institutions to review their employment and admission practices and confirm their compliance, according to the university.

So, now another university system makes the decision to back away from D.I.E. requirements for hiring and admissions in their system. Is the tide turning?

Diversity in a university would be nice. Like actual diversity of thought and perspective.

Just because they remove the words that doesn’t mean they changed.

“Just because they remove the words that doesn’t mean they changed.”

This.

Liberal college administrators, and weak moderates, must be constantly watched and supervised. If caught cheating they must be dealt with firmly. But fairly.

The words are a good start but agreed they need to be watched like a hawk—and heads need to roll as needed—zero tolerance policy for anti-white and anti-Asian discrimination policies.

I suspect it’s the Asians who are really leading this fight.

Fire them on the spot and take away their computer privileges and passes to enter university buildings.

If they want to appeal the decision later they can do so.

“Just because they remove the words that doesn’t mean they changed.”

EXACTLY - Who put the words in, who approved the words, and are they still employed there?

The last question is easy enough to answer.

Except that they voluntarily put in DEI and had to be forced to remove it.

....for some perspective, both my kids graduated from Texas A & M. But, there is a higher level of eyebrow raising and disappointment among Texas Taxpayers these days about the school.

Abbott should not have had to tell them to knock it off. They all knew that but did it anyway.

I think it’s time for Texans who love and support A & M to start demanding a stop to wokeism in all Texas Universities or demand Abbott start firing some Regents!!

GOOD! TAMU needs to stick by conservative tradition.

Tradition and education is what the place is all about!
