Actually, on the order of 10 million, and that was BEFORE WW2. Putin makes a point of bringing that up and say that he NEVER wants to see anything like that repeated...while the people in DC who started this Ukraine War in were wearing Che tee-shirts in college (and maybe still are) and thought (and maybe still think) that the Soviet Union was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
